School Districts
People are always asking about the local school districts, and trying to find all of the information in one place tends to be a difficult task. Our county does not divulge the information through their website in an easily readable way. Because of this, one must rely on information from several websites and newspapers to give an accurate description of the schools.
Here are a few distingushing facts about our Kindegarten through Eigth grade (K-8) schools and our High Schools: Each of our K-8 schools were distinguished as a School of Distinction or a School of Excellence on the NC ABC's Report Card for 2006-07. Also, Watauga High School was recognized with the second highest average SAT's scores for the state's 115 public school systems.
