Extension to Tax Credit for First Time Homebuyers?

It looks like the hopes and dreams of many real estate agents and many first time homebuyers may actually become reality.

Here is the article at a glance:

RISMEDIA, October 29, 2009—(MCT/The Wall Street Journal)-The Senate has reached a compromise on extending and expanding the $8,000 tax credit for first-time home buyers, a boost the housing industry believes will help it pull out of its two-year-old downturn.

Grandfather Mountain Documentary

Local Documentary on Grandfather Mountain that was shot, written, and edited by Jim Morton, Hugh Morton's son, in May of 2008 will be shown on UNC-TV on October 29 at 9:30. It will cover a large part of the species that call Grandfather Mountain home. It will be shown in chronological order, showing the changing of the seasons from Hugh’s perspective.

Don’t miss this chance to see a great work of art preformed by Hugh Morton.

First Monday Market Updates

For our residential market, the season is getting shorter and shorter. The movement our market we will see over the months from December to March will be located very close to our towns. These properties will be more full time residents rather than part time or seasonal. Though, I am also under the impression that with the economy working itself out of the gutter, we will see more activity over the winter than we have before. Early indicators suggest a raise in traffic for our market in the Spring of 2010. While many buyers will probably be waiting out the winter to make an offer on a property, several "investors" will be looking for the "deal of the century" over the winter months.

As I have alluded to several times before, I am always searching for the best way (usually the most aggressive way) to market properties. Recently I began a new relationship that will double the number of websites where I market properties. Over the next 4 months I will be testing this new relationship with a guarantee it will drive more traffic to properties.

NC, One of the Most Attractive States in the Country

Below is a great article written about North Carolina being one of the most attractive states in the Country. There are many added bonuses to having people desire to be in your state, but the wonderful fall colors in the mountains are enough of a reason for you and me.

First Monday Market Update

Another few weeks have passed and the market continues to make small steps to revive itself. With several weeks left in our “prime” season, it becomes very important to stay out ahead of the rest of the market. Buyers are starting to make regular appearances at real estate offices all around town and the surge from First Time home buyers will increase our markets (lower cost) activity until the end of November. As we approach the height of leaf season, now is the time to make any adjustments to the property before the winter months hit us; and several forecasts suggest the weather is going to hit us harder this year than it has in the past several years.
